Stone, Henry - Col
Colonel Henry Stone, Superintendent of Outdoor Poor, of Boston, Mass., died in the Homeopathic Hospital there yesterday, having been stricken with paralysis in the State House there a few days ago. He was sixty-five years old. He was a newspaper man in New York from 1857 to 1860. When the war began he became a second lieutenant of the First Wisconsin Infantry, and later was detailed on the staff of General D. C. Buell. He was assigned on the staff of Major General George H. Thomas in 1864 and served under him through the Atlanta campaign. He was a member of the Order of the Loyal Legion, and other military organizations.
