McLaughlin, Leslie C.

Leslie C. McLauchlin, 55 years old, a veteran of the First World War, ended his life by inhaling fumes from a gas stove in his apartment, 706 Spring St., yesterday afternoon.

The body was found by Robert Cook, apartment landlord.

McLauchlin’s wife, Irene, was shopping at the time.

A note addressed to his wife said, in part:

“I think it is better this way for you. You can be happier without me.”

Mrs. McLauchlin told Deputy Coroner Robert Lawe her husband had been despondent over illness.

The Home Undertaking Company is making funeral arrangements.
