Harrison Beard died February 13 at his home in Barnet from the effects of an overdose of morphine.
Mr. Beard was a son of Bartlett and Sarah Harriman Beard, and was born in Barnet about 72 years ago. He was a veteran of the Civil War and served in the First Vermont cavalry until wounded, since which time he had resided in Barnet, Mr. Beard was twice married, and leaves one son and one daughter by his first marriage. He is also survived by his wife and her son, Albert Woodard, who is an electrician now aboard one of the largest United States battleships that is now cruising in the Pacific. Harrison Beard is the last of his name in Barnet, where the family resided for generations. He leaves one brother, Charles, who lives in the west part of the state.
