Wells, Wilford

Soldier Killed Day After Sending Card to His Sister.

Private Wilford Wells, son of John T. Wells, 944 Lake street, has been killed in action in France, according to word received by his father. Private Wells was drafted at Blackfoot, Idaho, last June and, after receiving training at Camp Kearny, left for overseas August 1. He was 25 years of age.

A card written a day before his death and received by his little sister Mary, promised that he would return soon, bringing her a gift.
