This magnificient company of volunteers is commanded by another hero of the Mexican War. Capt. Short served in Scott's Division, and was in active service from Vera Crug[sic] to the city of Mexico.---He has been long and favorably known in the political circles of the State, is an ardent sucessionist and is now well armed and equipped to fight the Secession battles. The Company may well feel proud of such an officer.
