Gano, R M. - Gen

DALLAS, March 29.—Gen. R. M. Gano, pioneer citizen and Confederate soldier, who died late Thursday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Scurry, will be buried Sunday. The burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. General Gano was born in Kentucky, but in early days moved to Grapevine in Tarrant county.

He fought the Indians off and later represented Tarrant county in the legislature. When the Civil war broke out, he resigned his seat and organized a company of volunteers. He was quickly advanced to rank as major general.
