Charles F. Kent of Washington Street One of Three Accepted From Newport.

Charles F. Kent of Washington street, father of nine children, was inducted into the Army in Providence Monday with two other Newport fathers, after another physical examination. The other fathers were Joseph P. Lopes of 19 Middleton avenue and Robert P. Taylor of 118 Bliss road. They brought the total of Newport fathers inducted in the first December call to 23 out of 40.

Under the new allowance law passed by Congress, Mrs. Kent will receive $210 a month while her husband is in service. This is made up of $50 for the wife, $30 for the first dependable child, and $20 each for the remaining eight children.
