James McCormick.

EUGENE, Or., Jan. 16.---(Special.)---James McCormick, veteran of the civil war, member of Summer past, Grand Army of the Republic, of Portland, and early day Oregon resident, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Mitchell, in Eugene Friday night at the age of 78 years. Besides his daughter with whom he lived he is survived by four sons, Alvin A. McCormick of Portland, J. J. McCormick of Eugene, Walter and Clinton C. McCormick of San Francisco, and two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Hoselton and Mrs. Jaunita Rice, both of Eugene. For many years Mr. McCormick was a resident of Salem, where he reared his family. He was a member of Company C. First Oregon infantry, during the civil war.
