Regal, Roy Benjamin Franklin

Roy Benjamin Franklin Regal, oldest son of Arthur F. and Florence M. Guise Regal, was born in Ashtabula County, Ohio, February 25, 1896. His education has been secured in the Butler [PA] public schools, Butler High School, the Butler Business College, and the Bowling Green Business University. He is the assistant principal and advertising manager of the Butler Business College, having been associated with his father in this school work since 1914.

During the World War he served with the Eighteenth, Fourth, Second, and Sixteenth Companies of the One Hundred and Fifty-fourth Depot Brigade, U. S. A., Camp Meade, Maryland. He was honorably discharged April 25, 1919, as a sergeant, having served nine months. On March 16, 1925, he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Quartermaster's Reserve section of the Officers' Reserve Corps. On May 18, 1925, he was enlisted as a member of the Medical Detachment, One Hundred and Twelfth Infantry, Butler, Pennsylvania, with which organization he is now affiliated.

"R. B. F.," as he is usually known, is a member of F. O. Blankenship Post, American Legion; La Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux ; the Y. M. C. A. ; the Butler Philatelic Society; and of the Pittsburgh Typewriter and Adding Machine Dealers' Association. He is local agent for the Victor Adding Machine Company, American Writing Machine Company, Remington Typewriter Company, and the A. B. Dick Company. He is a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

In 1920 Mr. Regal was married to Laura A. Steen, a daughter of Samuel and Alma Bloom Steen. The following children have blessed this union: Dorothy May, Samuel Franklin, and Margaret Elizabeth.
