JAMES H. BACHMAN was born in Fayette, New York, and was a farmer by occupation ; he enlisted August 9th, 1862, aged twenty-four years ; was in the battle of Harper's Ferry, Virginia, September 13th, 14th and 15th, 1862, and was discharged for physical disability, at Chicago, Illinois, November 5th, 1862. Co. I, 126th Regiment Infantry New York, Disaster, struggle, triumph. Dedicated to the 126th Regiment of New York State Volunteers, 1870
