Babcock, Stephen G.

STEPHEN G. BABCOCK was born in Tyre, New York ; he enlisted July 30th, 1862, aged eighteen years, and participated in the battles of Harper's Ferry, Gettysburg, Auburn Ford, Bristow Station, Mine Run and Morton's Ford ; he was detached with provost guard at Head-quarters 2d Army Corps, April 4th, 1864, and served in such capacity until the close of the war ; he was appointed Corporal, November 1st, 1863, and was discharged with the Regiment. Co. F, 126th Regiment Infantry New York, Disaster, struggle, triumph. Dedicated to the 126th Regiment of New York State Volunteers, 1870
