CHARLES WHEELER was born in Geneva, New York, and by occupation was a machinist ; he enlisted August 9th, 1862, aged eighteen years, and was in the following battles : Harper's Ferry, Gettysburg, Auburn Ford, Bristow Station, Mine Run, Morton's Ford, the. Wilderness, Po River, Spottsylvania, North Anna River, and Tolopotomoy ; he was killed in action at Tolopotomoy, May 31st, 1864. Co. E, 126th Regiment Infantry New York, Disaster, struggle, triumph.
