Updyke, Nathan

NATHAN UPDYKE was born in Fayette, New York, and by occupation was a blacksmith ; he enlisted August 8th, 1862, aged twenty-five years, and was in the battle of Harper's Ferry, Virginia, September 13th, 14th and 15th, 1862 ; in January, 1863, he was detailed on duty in the Quartermaster's department, in which capacity he served until the close of the war, and was discharged with the Regiment. Co. I, 126th Regiment Infantry New York, Disaster, struggle, triumph. Dedicated to the 126th Regiment of New York State Volunteers, 1870
