Van Thun, William - Capt

Captain William Van Thun, who was Assistant Secretary of the United States Mortgage and Trust Company, 55 Cedar Street, when Congress declared war, is dead in France. The War Department telegram to his wife did not state how he met his death. Captain Van Thun was trained at Plattsburg, and, when commissioned, was assigned to the Upton Division. Subsequently he was assigned to an infantry unit of another division, with which he went overseas. He is survived by a wife and two little children. His home was at 603 Lincoln Place, Brooklyn.
