Harrop, Thomas

THOMAS HARROP, aged 75 years, a member of the hat manufacturing firm of Harron, Gish [?] & Co., of Orange, N. J., died at his home, 40 [?] Orange Road, Montclair, N. J., yesterday. In 1875 he was elected the first chief of the Orange Fire Department and served till March 1881. Then he was succeeded by Mr. Charles Dodd, who held the office until 1884, when Mr. Harrop was again elected and served till 1887. Mr. Harrop served in the Civil War. He was commander of Uzal Dodd Post No. 12, G. A. R. in 1902.
