A Mexican War Veteran Dies at 80.
Josiah Curtis, 80 years old, died this morning at his home, 127 Pendleton Avenue, Independence. He served as a private in the American Army in the war with Mexico, and also in the Union Army in the Civil War. He was an elder in the Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church of this city. His wife died about a year ago. These children are living: Mrs. Mary Caley of Cameron, Mo.; Miss Margaret Curtis, J. M. Curtis, 154 East Walnut Street, Independence; Mrs. Nannie Gibbs of Beaumont Station; Mrs. Elizabeth Bishop and William A. Curtis of Independence. Funeral services will be at the home at 11 o'clock Friday morning. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery.
