Stephen E. Brocka
WEST SPRINGFIELD—Stephen E. Brocka, 76, of 257 Main St., a retired 35 year vending machine operator for Leader Amusement Inc., died Monday in Providence Hospital, Holyoke. He retired in 1975. A lifelong resident of West Springfield, he was an Army veteran of World War II, and former member of the Army National Guard. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church; charter member of West Springfield-Agawam Elks Lodge 2174; and member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1849, Tiger Athletic Club of Chicopee, Verdi Club, Old Merrick Association and the Chikuppy Legionnaires. He leaves his wife, the former Helena Suski; three daughters, Jean C. Brocka and Linda J. Heenan, both of West Springfield, and Rose Marie Salafia of Wethersfield, Conn.; a brother, Joseph of West Springfield; sister, Pauline Roberb of Springfield; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday morning at Curran-Jones Funeral Home and in the church with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.
