Cook, James D.

Concerning one of the members of Co. L who served in this conflict the following has been gleaned. On November 4, 1916, James D. Cook was named by Governor Brumbaugh of Pennsylvania to take the vote of the 13th Pennsylvania regiment on the Mexican border.
At the outbreak of the Spanish war he was a traveling salesman, happened to be in Greenfield and promptly enlisted in the local company. He came from Cuba Ill, was taken in and cared for by the late Mr. and Mrs. Murray Guilford in their home until able to resume work. In 1916 Mr. Cook was secretary-treasurer of the Mountain Land Company in Pennsylvania.
