Amidon, Solomon H.

Solomon H. Amidon died January 22, 1923, while visiting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. H. Livingston, in town. He was born in Rowe, September 28, 1840, son of David and Bertha Dunbar Amidon. After leaving school he came to Greenfield to work, returning here after his war service and working at his trade, carpentering. For over fifty years he had been a resident of Millers Falls where he was a well known contractor and builder. He enlisted June 21, 1861, in Co. G, 10th Massachusetts regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry; mustered out July 6, 1864, expiration of service.
