Ballou, Charles Emerson
Charles Emerson Ballou was born in Halifax, Vt., son of Perley and Levina (Haven) Ballou and died November 14, 1922, aged 83 years. He followed farming and for many years owned the sightly farm on the South Shelburne road, since the property of the late A. D. Potter and now (1929) owned by William Koch. He enlisted September 9, 1862 in Co. A, 52d regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Militia for nine months; mustered out August 14, 1863.
