Burnham, Frederic Lord
Frederic Lord Burnham died January 14, 1919, aged 75 years. He was born August 29, 1843 in Buxton, Maine; son of Samuel and Priscilla Burnham; spent his early life in Montague City and came to Greenfield in 1867 from Chicopee. He enlisted Oct. 11, 1862 from Munroe, Me., as a member of Co. D, 26th regiment Infantry of Maine; discharged as Third sergeant, Aug. 17, 1863. He was an active worker in Edwin E. Day Post [GAR], for over fifty years a member of Pocumtuck Lodge of Odd Fellows. His was a successful business life, spent in carpentering, contracting, real estate and insurance.
