Son of Thomas and Juanita Pickering (Miller); born October
17, 1896, Jeffersonville, Ind. Employed as sheet and metal
worker in Shreveport, La., for several years, where he entered
service September 4, 1918. Sent to Camp Beauregard, La.;
assigned to Company M, 5th Infantry. Died of pneumonia
October 28, 1918, Hospital, Camp Beauregard, La. Buried in
Walnut Hill Cemetery, Jeffersonville, Ind.
