Crouch, John Melvin

Son of Daniel and Bertha Crouch; born June 28, 1899, near
Nashville, Ind. Laborer. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army
August 23, 1916, Columbus Barracks, Ohio. Served on
Mexican Border with Company K, 3rd Infantry. Overseas in
June, 1917, with Company H, 26th Infantry. Transferred to
Company D, Machine Gun Battalion, 1st Division. Died of
empyema March 15, 1918 in France. Survived by widow,
Mamie Harden Crouch, and one son, John Dwight Crouch,
Nashville, Ind.
