Son of Ulysses Grant and Clara Schuler Adams; born
March 4, 1895, Jolietville, Hamilton County, Ind. Moved
with parents to New Haven, Allen County, in 1899. Machinist.
Entered service March 8, 1918, Fort Wayne. Sent to Fortress
Monroe, Va.; assigned to 29th Balloon Company. Died of
influenza October 5, 1918, Fortress Monroe, Va. Buried with
military honors in Hesse Cassel Cemetery, near Fort Wayne,
Gold Star Honor Roll, A Record of the Indiana Men and Women who died in the service of the United States and the Allied Nations in the World War 1914-1918, published by the Indiana Historical Commission, 1921
