BARON, CHARLES Private

Son of John and Anna E. Baron; born in Allen County, Ind.
in 1901, (exact date not known). Enlisted in U.S. Regular
Army in April, 1917, Fort Wayne, Ind., when he was barely
sixteen years old, although he gave his age as eighteen. Sent
to Camp Shelby, Miss.; transferred to Camp Merritt, N. J.
Overseas in June, 1917. Transferred to Company E, 28th
Infantry, 1st Division. Killed in action July 18, 1918. (Place
unknown).
