Farley, Garland

FARLEY, GARLAND (Colored) .... Private. Son of John and Nora Farley; born in Marion, Ky., (date not known). While working as a mechanic in Fort Wayne, Ind., he was inducted into service in spring of 1918. Went overseas; assigned to Pioneer Infantry. Engaged in non-combative work, roof-building and stevedore duty. Died of influenza in August, 1918. Buried in the American Cemetery, Noyens, Soir-et-Cher, France. Survived by widow, Bessie Farley, Fort Wayne, Ind.
