Coney, John Frank


Son of John and Alice Coney; born February 10, 1894,
Lagrange County, Ind. Farmer. Enlisted in U.S. Navy in
Montevidio, Minn., and while awaiting call, entered selective
service June 24, 1918. Sent to Camp Grant, Ill.; assigned to
21st Company, 161st Depot Brigade. Transferred to Company
G, 341st Infantry. Went overseas September 9, 1918, with
the 86th (Blackhawk) Division. Died of influenza October 8,
1918, Hospital, St. Marie, LeHavre, France. Buried, LeHavre,
Seine Inferieure.
