Plew, Howard Clinton

PLEW, HOWARD CLINTON - Fireman, U.S.N.

Son of Joseph and Elizabeth Plew; born August 4, 1891,
Kosciusko County, Ind. Moved to state of Washington in 1908.
Horticulturist. Enlisted in U.S. Navy in December, 1917. Sent
to Naval Station, Bremerton, Wash.; assigned to duty as Fire-
man on transport Mt. Vernon. Lost his life September 5, 1918,
when ship was sunk by German submarine. Buried in Lees-
burg, Kosciusko County, Ind. Survived by widow, Alice Plew,
and two children, Elizabeth Ellen, and Howard Clinton, Malaga,
Wash.
