Akers, Stanley Garland


Son of George and Pearl Akers; born September 17, 1897,
Freetown, Jackson County, Ind. Farmer. Entered service
September 6, 1918, Brownstown, Ind. Sent to Camp Taylor,
Ky.; assigned to Battery C, 70th Field Artillery. While home
on furlough, he died from gun shot wounds, received from his
own gun while hunting, October 17, 1918. Buried in Wegan
Cemetery, near Brownstown, Ind.
