Allen, Alva

ALLEN, ALVA - Private

Son of Jeremiah and Margaret Allen; born April 14, 1895,
near Bloomfield, Ind. Farmer. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army
April 17, 1917, Bloomfield, Ind. Sent to Jefferson Barracks,
Mo.; assigned to Company G, 18th Infantry. Overseas in
June, 1917; attached to 1st Division. Received additional
training at Houdencourt, France. Participated in battles of
Cantigny, and Argonne Forest. Killed in action October 4,
1918, in Argonne Forest Drive. (Burial place unknown).
