DAY, JESSE - Seaman

Son of John and Mary Peyton Day; born July 9, 1894,
Morgan County, Ky. Moved to Indiana in 1911. Farmer.
Entered U.S. Navy May 8, 1918, Louisville, Ky. Sent to
Great Lakes Naval Station, Ill.; stationed in Camps Dewey,
Paul Jones, Old Detention, and Camp Ross. Went aboard the
Wisconson. Died of pneumonia October 7, 1918, while home on
furlough, Veedersburg, Ind. Buried in Rockfield Cemetery,
near Veedersburg, Ind.
