MURPHY, JASPER CHARLES (Colored) - - Private

Son of Isaac and Amanda A. Murphy; born September 12,
1890, Desoto, Mo. Moved to Connersville, Ind. in 1915.
Foundry worker. Entered service in August, 1918, Conners-
ville, Ind. Sent to Camp Funston, Kans. ; assigned to Company
G, 809th Pioneer Infantry. Died of influenza on board steamer
President Grant, October 4, 1918, enroute for France. Buried
at sea.
