CUNNINGHAM, FERRIS - Sergeant
Son of Thomas L. and Flora Cunningham; born June 2,
1893, North Baltimore, Ohio. Moved to Elkhart, Ind. in 1909.
Enlisted in Indiana National Guard May 26, 1916, Elkhart,
Ind. Trained at Camp Shelby, Miss. Assigned to Company
A, 113th Military Police. Overseas in September, 1917.
Promoted to Sergeant. Died of pneumonia October 22, 1918,
in England. Buried in Willow Grove Cemetery, Manchester,
England. Survived by widow, Mildred Cunningham, South
Gold Star Honor Roll, A Record of the Indiana Men and Women who died in the service of the United States and the Allied Nations in the World War 1914-1918, published by the Indiana Historical Commission, 1921
