KIDD, VERNON MONROE - 1st Lieutenant, British Royal Flying Corps

Son of Albert and Fannie Frazier Kidd; born December 6,
1896, Waco, Mo. Moved with parents to Yorktown, Delaware
County, Ind. in 1902. Electrician. After being rejected several
times by U.S. recruiting officers, he enlisted in Canadian Flying
Corps, in September, 1917. Sailed for England early in 1918.
Promoted to 1st Lieutenant. Killed in airplane accident
August 30, 1918, while teaching a recruit how to pilot his
