Owens, Cheton

OWENS—Cheton Owens, 59, Roscoe, Ill., died 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 1962 in Madison Veterans Hospital, Madison, Wis., after a long illness. Born May 12, 1903 in Benton, Ill. Lived 9 months in Roscoe, coming from Rockford, where he lived 7 years. Married to the former Gertrude McClellan in Peoria July 31, 1952. Employed as a parts washer by Rockford Clutch Division, Borg-Warner Corp. for 2 years. Veteran of World War II serving in the Army.

Survivors included; his wife, Gertrude, Roscoe; a son, Jack Owens, Chicago; and a grandson, Larry Eugene Owens, Roscoe.

Services at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, in SUNDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 215 Hall St., with the Rev. Ray F. Baldwin, pastor of Roscoe Methodist Church, officiating. Burial in a Roscoe cemetery.
