Hale, Henry W.

Henry W. Hale died at South Jacksonville, Fla., September 5, 1922. He was born in North Adams, July 1, 1844, son of Charles D. and Lucy (Langdon) Hale. In 1880 he moved from Bernardston to Greenfield where he lived first on Wright avenue and later in a house which he built on Crescent street, now the home of Mrs. W. F. D. Morey. He enlisted September 9, 1862 in Co. A, 52d regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Militia for 9 months; mustered out August 14, 1863; re-enlisted August 26, 1864 in Co. F, 4th regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Cavalry; discharged August 14, 1865; past commander of Edwin E. Day Post [GAR].
