Private First Class Rogers was a member of the 29th Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on September 11, 1950 and returned to duty on October 18, 1950. He died of other causes in Korea on July 28, 1951. Private First Class Rogers was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
