Private First Class Williams was a member of the 822nd Engineer Aviation Construction Battalion. He was accidentally shot by another soldier at Taegu, South Korea on April 10, 1951 and died at the 4th Field Hospital. Private First Class Williams was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
